Detailed description:

Welcome to my immersive 2-hour in-person beginner's crochet workshop! In a cosy and creative space, I'll guide you through an engaging journey into the world of crochet. Whether you're a complete novice or revisiting forgotten skills, you'll experience a warm and supportive environment. The workshop kicks off with a friendly introduction, setting the tone for a fun-filled session. We delve into the nuances of US and UK crochet terminology, ensuring you confidently navigate patterns from both sides of the pond. Understanding the impact of hook size, tension, and yarn weight on your finished piece becomes a hands-on exploration, demystifying the art of crochet. As we progress, you'll master the art of casting a foundation chain – the cornerstone of your crochet creations. Building on this foundation, you'll skilfully complete a row of single crochet stitches (US). The workshop emphasises proper turning techniques, ensuring your stitches align seamlessly as you progress to the next row. For those feeling adventurous, we'll explore double/treble crochet stitches (US), pushing your skills to new heights. Even if you choose to observe, the experience is enriched by interactive demonstrations, ensuring a personalised and adaptable learning pace. What sets my workshop apart is not just the skill-building but the emphasis on the experience itself. From personalised attention to a carefully curated atmosphere, I foster a sense of community and creativity. Every participant receives a specially crafted crochet kit, including quality yarn, a crochet hook, and a guide for continued practice at home. Ultimately, my workshop goes beyond the basics, instilling confidence and a genuine passion for crochet. Join me for an unforgettable, uniquely enriching crochet adventure – where skill meets joy in every stitch!

About the host

Welcome!  I'm Emma, the heart behind this creative endeavour fuelled by my unwavering passion for crochet.  My love affair with crochet began 15 years ago, evolving into a therapeutic escape and a means to weave beauty with a simple hook and yarn. Amidst the demands of family and a 9-5 job, I birthed this venture with a mission—to share the joy and satisfaction that crochet brings. In 2019, I turned my passion into a full-time pursuit, running diverse workshops both online and in-person in the scenic landscapes of Cheshire. Throughout lockdown, I had the privilege of introducing countless individuals to the enchanting world of crochet, witnessing the magical moments of beginners creating their first piece and seasoned crafters discovering new techniques. Beyond the stitches, my vision expanded. I sought to foster a community—a haven for like-minded souls passionate about crochet and meaningful connections. This vision materialized into the immersive experience of my crochet retreats. Join us on this delightful journey, where crochet transcends mere skill, becoming a shared bond that unites us in a tapestry of creativity and mutual passion.
