How is paper made? What are the simple materials required for making handmade paper? How is paper produced in an inexpensive manner at home? Paper making is a tradition that is thousands of years old, yet artists today are still experimenting with creative paper making techniques. I will take you on a creative learning process of transforming paper waste into beautiful handcrafted paper. Once you have your transformed, environment friendly, hand-crafted sheets ready, your thank you cards and gift tags and note books will never be the same again! You will learn how to convert old/used paper into new Plain paper Coloured paper Textured papers Seed paper Designer Paper

About the host

I’m a multi-disciplinary artist, and love to engage with folk/tribal art from across the world – wiPth a special focus on India. I design and conduct experiential workshops, giving a contemporary bent to heritage Art n Craft. I have thoroughly enjoyed conducting in-person and online workshops for audiences in India, USA, UK, Australia, Dubai. My workshop at Amazon HQ in Seattle demonstrated the ease with which art communicates with people from different countries and ethnicities.  The learning and sharing process has been unique in each workshop and the participants’ ages have varied from age 8 to 80!

What the Host requires you to bring
  • Tissue/ toilet paper roll ( one,white,any thickness)
  • A couple of old newspapers/magazines
  • 4-5 pieces of Fresh flowers and leaves
  • Spice powders like tumeric, red pepper, oregano
  • Whole spices - coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds or any tiny flower seed
  • Acrylic paints - 2 shades + 1 beetroot
  • a flat strainer/fruit basked which has holes in the bottom and a flat base
  • flat plastic tub or deep plate to place ontop of strainer/basket
  • old piece of cotton fabric to strain through
  • sponge
  • food processor/blender or mixer-grinder
  • clothes iron
  • 2 extra bowls
  • mug, scissors and pencil
  • water
