The sport creates a bond around the country and is a part of the nation’s cultural DNA, loved by us all. So why not take time for a match followed by beers, with Bainos (Bahia locals). Put your football skills to the test, and even if you don’t manage to score at the back of the net - you’ll definitely score new friends along the way.
Detailed description:If you’re looking for a way to connect with the locals whilst you are in Bahia and want to feel what its like to be part of a neighbourhood team, then join me and my closest friends to play some football! You'll get a chance to play on a local pitch where in true Brazilian style, the vibe is lively and friendly. It’s a way to share your talents, your knowledge and some football stories, picking up some tricks and insights from your new local teammates too.
After the match, guests are taken to ‘Bar do Zezinho’ to enjoy some refreshing, cold Brazilian beers. The bar is a famous spot in our neighbourhood where we all hang out to watch the national games and international leagues, as well as tournaments like the Copa América, the World Cup and Champions League. Whether you fancy yourself as a defender, a goalie or a striker there is always room on our pitch and a space on our team for you!
I am Fernando, born and bred in Salvador / Bahia. Im currently in my third and final year of university studying gastronomy and training to be a chef. I’m absolutely loving it!
I love Salvador. My home city is full of life, energy and beautiful people. We welcome everyone with big smiles and a zest for life! The city is well known for its Axe (famous Brazilian music style in Carnival) and for having warm temperatures throughout the year.
But like everywhere in Brazil, the game of football is a huge part of the culture here. It’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing as a little kid and for the past three years I’ve captained my neighbourhood team. We play friendly games most evenings and weekends and compete from time to time in regional tournaments. This is something we plan to do more of (if we can!) in 2021 and definitely in the future.
We love to have new people join us at our practice games… as its always good to be kept on our toes with fresh energy! As we’re a super friendly group we all enjoy meeting with new people and turning them into new friends (even if competing against them on the pitch!) We hope to see you for a kick around real soon.
Football jersey and knee pads are provided for guests.Two beers are included in the price of the experience.Please wear comfortable sports pants/shorts.We play on a grass pitch so please do wear football boots if you have them, or trainers if not.
