Nightlife Entertainment Tours Cycle and see Rio lit up at night with this marvellous cycling tour! As a city native with many years of cycling under my belt, I’ve had fun mapping out a creative adventure for curious cyclists to come and enjoy. I’ll share my expertise as a Certified Bike Tour Leader and intimate knowledge of the route’s streets and sights. Enjoy the city’s gems, keeping safe on the road, making memories to never forget!
Detailed description:Get ready to discover Rio on two wheels and see some of the sights the Brazilian capital is most famed for, like Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, the 38m Christ The Redeemer statue stop Mount Corcovado and the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain.
Route:
Depart from Leblon Beach post 11. Along Ipanema Beach and then Copacabana. We then pass SugarLoaf ( Pão de Açúcar) venture through the Botafogo neighbourhood, Humaita, and Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The route finishes back at Leblon Post 11.
The route we take is ideal, with many dedicated cycling lanes and low on road traffic. It has a great energy after dark as it passes some vibrant areas and night markets. This means there are plenty of spots to stop and get some insight into the places along the route …as well of course take some photos for you to look back on!
Ola pessoal! I am Lucas, from the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area here in Rio de Janeiro. I’m deeply passionate about cycling (for me it is both work and play!) I started cycling at 15 years old and I guess I have never stopped!
I now train daily, getting up at 6 am seven days a week, for Speed Training during the week and MBT (mountain bike training) on the weekend. I run several local pedal groups as well as managing my own bike tour company day to day.
I created this experience as something different to the daytime tours I offer through my day to day work, as I wanted to try something a little different for the more advanced and curious cyclists out there! I’ve picked the route based on years of first hand knowledge and so I’m confident it will impress both natives and tourists. Whichever you are, if you’d like a new local friend to night ride Rio with, then here I am (as long as you promise to return the favour when I make it to your city one day!)

- Please ensure your bike is in good working order and suitable and safe to ride on the route as described. - I recommend a warm extra layer as it will be night-time, and spare clothing / towel if raining. - Have some light food before the experience - you’ll need the energy for the cycle!
