Detailed description:

Discover the entire history of this incredible city from its roots as the Roman settlement of Londinium through the tumultuous medieval period and up to the modern day.

You'll visit major landmarks such as Tower Bridge, The Tower of London, and St Paul's Cathedral, as well as less famous sites like the remains of the original London Bridge, the world's first-ever subway, and other hidden gems usually unknown to tourists. See the Roman wall, London's amphitheatre where gladiators did battle, amazing churches, cathedrals, and much more!

You will be guided by a professional archaeologist with a decade of experience working on excavations across the globe. Not only will you learn about these remarkable pieces of history, but you will also leave with an understanding of why they are so important and how they shaped the London of today.

About the host

I'm a professional archaeologist from Manchester, England, but I moved to London to study. Alongside receiving my Undergraduate and Post-Graduate degrees from the British Institute of Archaeology, University College London, I've worked on archaeological excavations in Europe, The Middle East, and Africa.

Travelling the world has been an incredible experience, but the many excavations I've worked on in and around London captured my deepest interests.

Places we'll visit

We will visit sites which tell the story of London's entire history from the Roman City 2000 year ago to the present day.

We will see major landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and St Paul's Cathedral. We will also see many sites which most visitors miss, like the remains of the original London Bridge.
