About the experience

Experience Duration : 2 hrs
Experience Summary:

This 2-hour 1:1 bespoke creative experience at Artist's studio is designed to apply the power of the art process to find an answer to a tricky situation in your life. Sometimes it is challenging to make the right decision or see an alternative way when things get out of control. This can be a personal, financial, professional, or relationship challenge where you feel that you are stuck wasting too much time and mental energy trying to move forward but end up getting nowhere.

Detailed description:

What would the experience look like?

Let's start with an informal chat with a cup of tea or cacao to find out more about you. This will help me to connect with you on both mental and spiritual levels. I then suggest an art medium that I feel could be relevant to take you on a tailored art journey. It could involve (but is not limited to) intuitive drawing, painting, mixing colours, collage, playing with materials, creative writing, photography etc. We are all different, and I choose the way to work with you by intuition only while channelling creative energy on the day. This would allow a deep dive into your personal situation using an experimental art process. You will be invited to switch your busy mind off and enter a state of creative flow to connect with your inner voice.

Who is this session for?

This session suits individuals who believe in the powerful link between art, science, and spirituality on their self-awareness journey. The inspiration behind this experience is to create a safe space for emotional expression and reflection to clear up confusion and clouded thoughts. Once more balanced, we can make better decisions and handle any situation in life. If any of this resonates, give it a try!

What would we create as a result of this experience?

You will unlikely create a masterpiece, but we aim for something else. We instead focus on the true expression of your inner voice using the art-making process as a way to do so. The outcome of this powerful experience might not be an exact answer to your challenge straight away. Instead, it can occur in the form of energy release, an alternative perspective, an original, insightful thought, or a clearer direction to move forward.

What is included in the price?

  • Price is calculated based on the Scottish Artist's Union rates
  • All art materials are included
  • A welcome drink on arrival

What are the requirements?

All that is needed - is your curiosity, open mind, and willingness to trust the process. You don't need any previous creative experience to take part. Do not worry at all if your English is not fluent - we will top it up with the visual language instead. Just bring yourself, your open mind, and your curiosity to my art studio. I will take care of the rest.

About the host

I am an Edinburgh-based visual artist, researcher, and creative educator driven by a passion for community wellbeing. Linking my background in Behavioural Science, Contemporary Art Practice, and curiosity in Contemporary Spirituality, I express my own emotional realities while exploring the limits that people have to create a better everyday reality. I work across notions of time, memory, materiality, decay, and connection with a range of media including found materials, installation, photography, painting, printmaking, and moving image.

I regularly lead creative projects for displaced communities across Scotland. I strongly believe in art as a powerful tool that we can use to drive social change, rebuild trust, and infuse optimism into our ordinary lives. I worked with cultural and humanitarian organisations including Edinburgh Ukrainian Community Centre, Art in Healthcare, Scottish National Galleries, Edinburgh Royal Lyceum Theatre, Volunteer Edinburgh, and Life with Art to bring numerous community art projects to life.

I also facilitate bespoke creative experiences and classes for individuals to help them to discover unique creative voices, empower them for changes, and support challenging transitions in life.
