Experience some feel good upcycling! Create a unique themed mosaic ornament by breaking some vintage plates (with the right tools of course) & ceramics, adhere them to a waterproof surface, and go home with a piece ready to hang in your bathroom (or above your bed, or in your garden or gift it!)

Detailed description:

Enjoy a stimulating workshop at Debra's studio creating a unique artwork on a themed motif (starfish, shell, dolphin or sea-horse or a fish/bird of your choice)  You will be guided by an experienced mosaicist who will assist you in selecting suitable pattern and vibrant colour combos, enabling you to learn new techniques & use specialised tools for nipping and shaping ceramic pieces.  Finish off the piece with a coloured grout (if desired) and then it's ready to hang!

  • Well equipped park-side studio with plenty of resources to choose from including vintage china, ceramic, vit glass, buttons, beads and shells.
  • Choose a motif, plates & tiles and get set go - start cutting and adhering!
  • Enjoy a day out in outskirts of London (20 mns from Kings Cross by train), free car parking next to studio and enjoy a break in the lovely cafe in the park after or before the workshop.

About the host

Hi.  Im an enthusiastic art teacher and artist.  Created mosaic designs for tube stations and local areas in community projects and school mosaics.  Commissioned work includes portraits and large scale garden wall features, as well as pots and sculpture.  With a Mosaic in Diploma Studies learning the ancient art of mosaic from Romans to Byzantine methods, and a Fine Art Painting background, I have extensive knowledge of mosaic making, and image making that stands out in a range of materials.
