About the experience

Experience Duration : 2 hrs
Experience Summary:

Who doesn't love donuts and chocolate?! Well, here's your chance to learn to make authentic yummy Spanish churros and thick rich dunking chocolate. But, the unique experience doesn't end there, you will also get the opportunity to make them (and eat them) on a cute historic houseboat in a central London location! Your host is Tere, a trained artist, all round creative and massive lifelong foodie, her knowledge is outstanding and her enthusiasm and energy is inspiring. So come on board to enjoy delicious churros for a fun, unique and memorable workshop!

Detailed description:

Tere will give you a brief history of the Spanish tradition of Churros con Chocolate and tell you about her favourite places to eat them in Spain. Also, because we will be having the experience in a unique London setting of her houseboat, she will be happy to share what it's like to live as part of the East London boaters community too!

You will get to see all the ingredients and Tere will explain why they are used and give you some insider tips/ hacks.

Guests will  have a chance to play around with the dough - the fun bit - and see how it looks sizzling in the oil.

The next part is making the delicious thick drinking chocolate which we will make from scratch - nothing comes out of a packet in Tere's little boat kitchen!

The ingredients can be made vegan very easily. The perfect experience for couples or adults with kids.

Finally you will be able to eat the churros con chocolate whilst they are still hot, either upstairs in the pretty wheelhouse or the covered deck, a cute little space full of charm with views of the water - you may even see a duck floating past too!

About the host

Hi, I'm Tere and I am a Spanglish foodie - my mother is English and my father is Spanish = Spanglish! I am a trained artist and along with my professional artist partner Colin, we offer unique creative classes with passion and enthusiasm because we are doing what we love and what we are good at. My foodie passion comes from my Spanish family and from my lifelong visits to Barcelona. We lived in Barcelona for 14 years and I was lucky enough to do my grocery shopping at the famous La Boqueria market on Las Ramblas. I can cook pretty much anything but I am very fussy about ingredients and that food is prepared freshly and tastes good. My little boat kitchen is packed with a huge variety of ingredients and I regularly return to Barcelona to visit friends and family and to load up on my favourite food items. I am a very chatty person and absolutely meeting new people and telling all kinds of stories from my adventures. We also have the most beautiful Ragdoll cat who shares our life and is from Barcelona too, she loves her life on a boat as much as us!
