About the experience

Experience Duration : 1 hrs 30 mins
Experience Summary:

Want to eat healthily and fuel your body so that you have amazing energy? But you just don't have the time to spend ages cooking and then cleaning up!

Also, do you find that healthy food is often really bland and boring?

How can you keep your meals varied when it's so hard to be creative with boring vegetables?

AAAAH, raw fish! Where to even start with that?!

Well, you've come to the right place! In this class, I will reveal my secrets to making vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower taste INCREDIBLE and how to cook fish to perfection!

Detailed description:

This class focuses on the use of healthy ingredients (from a nutritional standpoint) and healthy cooking techniques while ensuring we get maximum flavour and enjoyment!

I will start by introducing myself, my culinary background, as well as my nutritional qualifications and interest.

Then I will briefly ask if everyone managed to get all the ingredients. If not, we will look at the alternatives and offer solutions.

We will cover how to prepare 1 type of fish (as we cook, I will explain the nutritional benefits of the fish & its benefits):

- Oily fish (rich in essential Omega-3 fatty acids), e.g. salmon, trout, chard

Or Lean, white fish, e.g. seabass, sea bream

One method will be Maceration which is used to make ceviche.

The other method is ?En Papillotte?

I will also show you how to cook the superfoods Broccoli, Kale and Cauliflower to make delicious, healthy salads & side dishes.

Having studied Engineering, I?m a self-professed geek when it comes to optimising cooking techniques, and, together with my training in nutrition and diet, I will share my knowledge at every key step.

Cooking is science in action, so I will also explain some of the chemical reactions going on too!

I love to interact with people in the real world, just as much as I do in my virtual classes, so I will engage with each of you to make sure you feel you are keeping up and so that we all cross the finish line at the same time!

It?s going to be an exciting, somewhat challenging and certainly fun experience!

We will have learnt new things for sure, but we will have had fun!

About the host

I'm passionate about food, like you! I love to share the cultural origins and nutritional benefits behind what I cook and relish the nostalgic sensations a dish inspires as it brings back memories of travels or past experiences!

I trained professionally as a chef at the Savoy Hotel, gaining Michelin-level cooking expertise under Marcus Wareing's tutelage.

In 2005, I was chosen to join Gordon Ramsay in the first season of the F Word (don't worry, I won't shout at you, I'll only shout for you!)

Having lived in South, Central & North America, and Europe and travelled to over 40 countries to collect recipes and discover new cuisines, I'm multi-culturally diverse and can teach your class in French, German, English & Spanish.

I have hosted many group cooking classes over the past 10 years in London and love the sense of group accomplishment and fun we have together.
