Come aboard Tere's cosy cottage style historic houseboat located in a tranquil location of East London. Guests will receive a very warm welcome before the cooking starts and you will get to learn how to create and enjoy the great British tradition of scones and cream with tea. The difference is that Tere has a tried and tested recipe to make delicious vegan scones with vegan "clotted cream" and you'll even get to make your own quick jam!
Guests will learn about the ingredients included in making vegan scones and vegan clotted cream and some interesting facts about the tradition of the typical "cream tea". You will get to mix and roll out the dough and get creative with cutting the scones for baking. Tere will teach you how to make a quick jam from fruit which really makes a difference in the whole experience.
Of course you can make scones at home or at a cookery school but you won't find a class like this in such a unique and special location. Tere will explain what life is like on a boat and if you're lucky, you may just meet some of the local ducks and swans floating past!
I'm Tere, a trained artist and all round creative individual. I live on a houseboat with my artist partner and our adorable and sweet Ragdoll cat called Tippi. I am a lifelong foodie and come from a family of talented cooks - based in Barcelona (my dad is Spanish). I call myself a Spanglish cook as I love Spanish and British cooking! I am a very experienced tutor (languages, art and food) and love teaching my students new skills and making it fun too!
