The Haven is a small and friendly home yoga studio in the heart of New Southgate, within walking distance of Arnos Grove tube. All yoga equipment is provided. Lessons cater for all levels of abilities. Pregnant ladies in their second and third trimester are also welcome and catered for. Because classes are limited to a max of only 4 students, you'll get lots of individual attention and coaching. You'll come away feeling energised yet relaxed and feeling calm. All classes last 60 minutes.
My name is Mara. My passion for yoga started in my late teens while living in Italy. Once I moved to the UK my passion grew and grew and I decided to train as a yoga teacher with the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga).
I have taught yoga extensively for 25+ years all over central and North London, including running Foundation Courses, one Teacher's Diploma course and several yoga retreats.
In 2011 I converted my loft into a small home yoga studio and for the last 10 years I have been teaching exclusively from my home studio. Before the pandemic I used to teach 11-12 weekly yoga classes. My yoga studio had to shut down during the pandemic and the various lockdowns but it is now thriving again with 9 weekly yoga classes.
I absolutely love what I do as I find it very rewarding. I am passionate about yoga as I have witnessed the deeply transformative effects that a regular yoga practice can bring to everyone. I look forward to welcoming you to my home yoga studio. I want you to have the best yoga experience ever!

Wear loose, comfortable clothes. Come with an empty stomach - allow 4 hours after a main meal and 2 hours after a snack. A health questionnaire needs to be filled out before the class. Pregnant ladies are welcome to join in their 2nd & 3rd trimester. If there has been a previous miscarriage, medical advice is needed prior to joining the class. Any serious medical conditions, please seek medical advice prior to joining the class. Modifications and alternatives will be offered to suit different levels of experience and to cater for injuries and various ailments. Practice within your comfortable limits, never hurry or strain. All yoga equipment is provided. Optional: you can bring your own yoga mat.
